As a kid I loved a challenge. Whether it was taking apart electronics, or building and painting model cars, I knew I was destined for a job where creativity had to be a factor. As a teenager my love for working on cars and trucks only grew stronger. During high school I took two years of Automotive Technology and was only 1 of 2 students in our rather large graduating class to complete and pass all 4 ASE tests that were offered. Along with the 4 certifications I received during graduation from technical school I was also awarded 2 scholarships to further my education in the field. Even though I loved mechanical work I couldnt help but get drawn to the paint and body aspect of the industry. That summer I started working at a local body shop not far from my house. When fall rolled around I decided not to pursue the institution in which I had received scholarships for but instead went to work for our areas larger collision repair center. I worked there on and off several times over the years while also working in other fields including owning and managing a convenient store and working for a credit union. Once I entered back into the collision repair field I used the knowledge I had learned from other trades to work my way up. After several more years as a Body Technician I worked my way into the office setting where I worked my way up from Parts and project management, Estimator, and last but not least, Shop Manager. While in a management position I couldn’t help but miss getting my hands dirty and physically working on the cars. In 2023 me and my family moved and bought a farm where I quickly realized I was going to open my own shop, which deep down was my ultimate dream. After a long year of working my tail off everyday on my shop, I finally opened up New River Collision in November of 2024!
